SELECTED WORKS My background in sociology informs my art practice both in terms of the strategies employed—decontextualization, isolation, juxtaposition—and the realm of investigation: how we decipher the information that surrounds us and create meaning.
Untitled, 2008. From a series of 37 drawings. Ink, watercolour and graphite on paper. Each 8x8 inches. Untitled, 2004-03. From a series of 17 drawings. Ink, watercolour and graphite on paper. Each 24x30 inches. Gelatin silver prints. Untitled (stairs), 2000. Untitled (planes), 2000. Untitled (house), 2001. Untitled (stones), 2001. A house carved out of Styrofoam, precut pieces of wood assembled in what look like small planes, clay molded in the shape of stones, these shapes are isolated on a white background and photographed. The black-and-white photographs are often mistaken for drawings, the grain of the gelatin-silver print being perceived as graphite. Site specific installations. Untitled (column), 2000. Untitled (herd), 2000. [Rewiew of the exhibition at Karen McCready] Untitled (swing), 1999. |
